8 Days Kenya Tanzania Safari

Enjoy and have fun in this combined safari in Tanzania and Kenya through visiting some of the historical conservation areas with diverse wildlife. You will witness migration of wildebeests and zebras that move in millions and thousands respectively. You will visit Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Serengeti national park and Ngorongoro crater.

These areas offer a great deal of wildlife encounters and you will be able to view the big five, different bird species among others. Interact with the Maasai people and enjoy their unique culture as they entertain you with their traditional dances.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Depart Nairobi to Lake Nakuru national park

Arrive early at Jomo Kenyatta international airport and be welcomed by our tour driver-guide or you will be picked from the hotel after breakfast and transfer to lake Nakuru national park north west of Nairobi, the area famous for pink flamingos which are attracted by algae.

It’s also home of waterbucks, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, white and black rhinos, leopards are also spotted. It was established in the 1960s and this makes it the oldest conservation area in the country. On arrival, you will take an evening game drive which will last till dinner time.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha

Enjoy the beauty of this park as you take a morning game drive and then transfer to Lake Naivasha with lunch en route or packed lunch. You will have a boat ride on arrival in the late afternoon where you will spot several animals like hippos, crocodiles, and buffaloes, antelopes on the crescent island, among others.

Day 3: Naivasha to Masai Mara game reserve

Transfer to Masai Mara national reserve after a game drive and mid-morning breakfast. This reserve is famous for the migration of wildebeests and zebras that move annually.

It also has over 470 bird species that can be spotted in this park and some of them are migrant birds, but also endemic species dwell here throughout the year; these include hornbills, secretary birds, vultures, long-crested eagles, ostriches and more. You will have dinner, after checking in your safari lodge and overnight stay.

Day 4: Full day in Mara

You will have a full day to explore the beauty of Maasai Mara land with abundant wildlife. You will also visit the local people-the Maasai and experience their culture in the beautiful shuka cloth with red, yellow and green colours.

They live in grass-thatched houses surrounded by their cattle kraals, also their dance is a must plus the stories of the elders about marriage ceremonies. Among other animals, you will watch spot are the giraffes, zebras, buffalos, elephants, warthogs, impalas, cheetahs, leopards among others.

Day 5: Masai Mara NR to Serengeti national park

Roll in the plains as you find your way to Serengeti national park which is situated at the border of Kenya as this favours migration of wildebeests and zebras that cross to Masai Mara.

It covers an area of 14,763 square kilometres and this has favoured millions animals that graze here all year long and among others include elands, leopards, cheetahs, topi, kongoni, impala, buffalo, elephant, Grant’s gazelle and lions. On arrival, take an evening game drive to spot some of these animals.

Day 6: Full day game drives in Serengeti NP

Enjoy as you take photos in good photographic points as you gaze around the beautiful scenery. This will be done immediately after breakfast and then start your excursion to the amazing features leaving you with memorable moments.

You will spot several wildlife like buffaloes, impalas, leopards, gazelles, cheetah and many others. Lunch picnic is another great moment as you enjoy African cuisine in Serengeti wilderness.

Day 7: Serengeti NP to Ngorongoro crater

Travel to Ngorongoro crater which is about 3-hour drive away. Ngorongoro has the largest caldera which makes it the most attractive conservation area in Africa. It is home of several animals such as zebras, leopard, elephants, eland, gazelles among others.

It is also a home of several predators such as hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, leopards, lions among others. On arrival, you will take a short game drive and then check in the safari lodge.

Day 8: Ngorongoro area to Arusha

Take a morning game drive and after breakfast, transfer to Arusha where you will board your flight back home and this will be the end of this 8 days safari to Kenya and Tanzania.
