Trek mount Meru – the second tallest mountain in Tanzania and explore its beauty. This will be done in just four days; where you will have a chance to spot several wildlife such as elephants, buffalos, primates like black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys among others.

Day 1: Arusha to Mt. Meru Park Gate / Miriakamba Hut (4-5 hours)
You will meet the driver guide at your hotel in Arusha – Tanzania who will quickly give you a briefing about the 2 days Mount Meru trek. Transfer to Mt. Meru park gate, a journey which will take about 4-5hours.
Your driver-guide will go through all the clearance at the park gate as you relax or admire picturesque sceneries. This mountain is the second largest mountain in Tanzania and it stands at 4566m above sea level. After, you will spend your first night on Miriakamba hut.
Day 2: Miriakamba Hut – Saddle Hut (3-4 hours)
On this day, enjoy breakfast in the mountain vegetation and the trek will start immediately as you traverse the grasslands towards the acacia forest on the southern route. You might spot giraffes and buffaloes lazily grazing on the lush vegetation and reaching Saddle hut which will take about 3-4 hours.
Pass through the lush montane forest as you approach the elephant ridges, and enjoy crater floor and summit ridges. Lunch will be provided at Saddle hut after passing through the fascinating moorland and giant heather. Then relax and enjoy the view the entire evening.
Day 3: Saddle Hut – Summit – Miriakamba Hut (4-6 hours)
After breakfast, hike to the summit (4,565m) and enjoy a great view of crater lakes, Kilimanjaro floating morning clouds and the rift valley in case weather is clear. Thereafter, descend to saddle hut by-passing a narrow ridge between the sloping outer wall of the crater and the sheer cliffs of the inner wall. This is absolutely one of the most spectacular and rewarding walks in Africa; proceed to Miriakamba hut, a journey which can take 4-5 hours where you will have lunch and overnight stay.
Day 4: Saddle hut – summit – Miriakamba Hut – Arusha
After spending your last night at Saddle hut, continue with the hike to Mount Meru highest peak at 4566m above sea level; traverse through the Rhino camp at 3800m which is accessed with a steep climb.
At the summit, you can get clear views of the free standing Kilimanjaro mountain with its snow covered peaks. After this, you will descend through Saddle and Miriakamba huts, and back to Arusha town. A journey of 10-12 hours will end with a drop off at the airport which will be the end of your 4 days Mount Meru trekking safari.
