Enjoy the beauty of Tanzania as you take 2 days and 1-night camping safari in both Tarangire national park and Ngorongoro crater. This will give you a chance to spot the big cats like lions, leopards, cheetahs, the big five animals and amazing birdlife like the secretary birds, ibis, fish eagle among others.
Game drives and camping will be rewarding activities as you spot these and more wildlife like the jackals, warthogs, elephants, zebras, wildebeests among others.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arusha-Tarangire national park
Depart Arusha after breakfast at the hotel and head to Tarangire national park which is located in the northern circuit of Tanzania. It can take 2 hours to reach this park and the journey covers 140km. You can purchase some items along the way in case you are willing.
Tarangire National Park is famous for its large herds of elephants and giant baobab trees. Other residents existing in big numbers are zebras and wildebeests and this huge population of ungulates is found around Tarangire Lake Manyara ecosystem. Tarangire River & Lake Burunge dam is the permanent source of water in the entire park serving the larger number of wildlife, especially during dry season.
While on this park, expect to spot lion, leopard hyena, jackals, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, Zebras and the three rare species of Great kudu, Oryx and the Ash stalling. Over 400 bird species were recorded here which includes secretary birds, ostrich, herons, kori bastard and lots of aquatic birds.
On arrival, you will take your lunch and then head for an evening game drive where you will spot an array of more wildlife.
At night after your dinner, enjoy campfire as you discuss what you have seen and also plan for the next day’s programme. At the campfire, story tales and more fun time can’t be missed and sleep in the tent for your overnight.
Day 2: Visit Ngorongoro crater and departure
Descend to Ngorongoro crater after breakfast which is referred by many as an 8th wonder in the world; a distance that takes 2 hours. Ngorongoro crater has got adequate water supply and food which supports the large population of wildlife including herds of zebras, wildebeests, hippos, gazelles and the rare black rhinos, buffaloes, African elephants and elands.
It is also home to a dense population of predators such as leopard, cheetah, hyena, lion and jackal while birds are abundant including flocks of flamingos, ostrich, goose pelican, ibis and many others.
After a spectacular gaze, transfer back to Arusha, marking the end of 2 days Tanzania camping safari.
